  Photo: Police Week Marathon - - Airman 1st Class Matthew Leeper, 354th Security Forces Squadron “Cops” teammate, positions a 180-pound dummy on a stretcher before his team does a litter carry May 14, 2008, at Eielson AFB, AK.  The 354th SFS hosted a Police Week Warrior Challenge consisting of a variety of physical and metal obstacles, such as a 1.5-mile run, a keep-in-memory game, various calisthenics and low crawling a total of 150 meters.  The 354th SFS “Cops” came in second place to the 354th Maintenance Squadron “Styers Strikers” with a time of 36:44.

Photo: (Mr. Tempel holds wife Ellie) Airmen assigned to the 354th Security Forces Squadron located Mr. Dan Tempel after it was discovered he had spent the night stranded outside in the Alaska wilderness in February.  Mr. Tempel provided his wife Ellie with full details of his trip plan which led the 354th SFS Remote Off-base Disaster Team almost straight to his location.  Mr. Tempel also brought the proper personal equipment and was prepared for the unknown.  These actions directly contributed to his surviving the night and almost return on his own abilities.
