Photo: (Mr. Tempel holds wife Ellie) Airmen assigned to the
354th Security Forces Squadron located Mr. Dan Tempel after it
was discovered he had spent the night stranded outside in the
Alaska wilderness in February. Mr. Tempel provided his wife
Ellie with full details of his trip plan which led the 354th SFS
Remote Off-base Disaster Team almost straight to his location.
Mr. Tempel also brought the proper personal equipment and was
prepared for the unknown. These actions directly contributed to
his surviving the night and almost return on his own abilities. |
