The U.S. Air Force Security Unit has
evolved over the years and has been known as Military Police,
Air Police, Security Police and Security Forces.
Their motto is
"Defensor Fortis" which means Defender of the Force.
They are a
Ground Combat and Accredited Police Academy trained unit with
Police Arrest Authority and special weapons training.
Air Force
Security units historically have been tasked with the mission of
protecting U.S. National Security Priority Resources such as
Nuclear Weapons Systems and U.S. and Foreign Nation Dignitaries
to include the U.S. President.
They provide
Anti-Hijacking/Anti-Terrorism security onboard the Presidential
Air Fleet (Air Force One, Air Force Two, etc...) and provide
Military Working Dog support for explosive detection to the U.S.
Secret Service.
