The U.S. Air Force Security Unit has evolved over the years and has been known as Military Police, Air Police, Security Police and Security Forces.

Their motto is "Defensor Fortis" which means Defender of the Force.

They are a Ground Combat and Accredited Police Academy trained unit with Police Arrest Authority and special weapons training.

Air Force Security units historically have been tasked with the mission of protecting U.S. National Security Priority Resources such as Nuclear Weapons Systems and U.S. and Foreign Nation Dignitaries to include the U.S. President.

They provide Anti-Hijacking/Anti-Terrorism security onboard the Presidential Air Fleet (Air Force One, Air Force Two, etc...) and provide Military Working Dog support for explosive detection to the U.S. Secret Service.
